Plans and billing
What each plan costs and includes is on the pricing page. This page explains how the plans work. Everything here is under Settings > Plan and invoices, and only owners and administrators can change it.
The trial
A new organisation gets 14 days of the Team plan, without a card. When the trial ends, the organisation moves to the Free plan by itself and keeps working. Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted.
Quotas
Usage is counted per calendar month, from the first of the month in UTC, on five meters:

Plan and invoices shows how far along each meter is this month, and warns you when one gets close.
When a quota runs out
Past a quota there is a margin of 10 percent. After that, what depends on the meter:
- Log lines, spans and metric readings are refused, and every refusal is counted and shown, so you can tell a full quota from an application that went quiet. A trace is refused as a whole, never in part.
- Storage: errors are still recorded, grouped and counted, but new ones are stored without their stack trace until there is room again.
The meters start again on the first of the next month.
Overage
To keep recording past your quota, turn on Keep recording past my quota and bill me for it. It is off by default.
Overage is billed once, after the month has ended, with a line per meter. Never during the month, and very small amounts are not billed at all. While overage is off, the screen shows what it would have cost, so you can decide whether a bigger plan is cheaper.
The Free plan has no overage: it can never cost anything.
Changing plans
Change plan takes three steps: the plan, billed monthly or yearly; your billing details; and an overview, after which you confirm the payment at Mollie, our payment provider. A year costs ten months.
- A subscription always runs from the first of the month. The days until then are charged pro rata in the first payment.
- The new plan starts once the payment has gone through.
- A smaller plan may allow fewer projects, collectors, alert rules or API tokens. Remove what does not fit before you move down.
- Enterprise is agreed per contract. Contact us about it.
Cancel the subscription moves the organisation to the Free plan. It keeps working, and nothing is deleted.
Invoices and VAT
Fill in your company name, address and invoice email under Billing details. Every collection is listed under Invoices, including the ones that failed: a failed line there usually explains why something stopped.
Prices are without VAT. We charge Belgian VAT, unless you give a VAT number from another EU country. The VAT is then reverse charged, once the number has been confirmed in the EU's VIES system.
